Unfortunately, like Google Maps anyway, the navigation in this game is so chaotic-even worse than Google Maps.
The Chinese plain in Dynasty Warriors 9 is certainly not full of buildings right now, but the navigation in this game will always lead you to the path. In fact, you can directly through the forest or river to get to the destination. This navigation will force you to walk on the path if you use the Auto Run feature .
This Auto Run feature you can use when riding a horse. Well, this horse will be forced to follow the path that even makes the distance becomes more distant. Open World But Not Offering Many Freedom
An open world game is a game that gives a lot of freedom to its players. Dynasty Warriors 9 does give freedom to gamers when playing this game. However, the freedom is very limited.
You're still required to follow the linear story of this game and when you move the chapter or to the next battle, the ground you step on will be different from before. You will feel like being moved to the next stage all of a sudden-a less smooth transition .
When taking a new quest -including the side quest- then you will be shown the direction to the quest . There is no problem here. Only, when you pass through the quest , you will be quite confused to finish it. Because the point of the quest is not shown on the map. You can search through options , but you will be thrown ( fast travel ) to the place of the quest .
Open World is here, no different from the stage that we often encounter in Dynasty games before.
I personally, hope that Open World that carried in Dynasty Warriors 9 will give freedom to build a kingdom like Dynasty Warriors Empires series . Is not something interesting if Empires is united with Open World ? Unfortunately, this game is not so.
There are many other things that are lacking with the Open World theme of this game, ranging from city dwellers are minimal and can be invited to interaction, then the battlefield feels empty, and much more. In essence, there are still many things that can be filled and developed by Toei for this game.

Koei Tecmo took a bold step by making Dynasty Warriors 9 an open world game . This decision alone is commendable. However, the game is still minimal innovation and not exactly good for modern gaming standards and looks like a game that has not been so. But maybe Dynasty 9 could be a lesson for Koei before releasing the previous Dynasty Warriors game .
Dynasty Warriors fans will probably enjoy this game a bit. But it seems difficult for gamers who are new to this game, it will be quite difficult to enjoy it. Dynasty Warriors 9 has now been released and can be played through PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
