Perhaps what we all believe to date, no single game released before 1978 contains Easter Egg in it. But, lately there is evidence that can deny what has been believed by people for so long.

Quoted from the page denofgeek.com, at that time, former Vice President of Microsoft Game Publishing, Ed Fries , was interviewing Ron Miller as a technician at Atari. He was surprised by Miller's admission that he once developed a secret trick for the arcade game titled "Starship 1" released in July 1977.

"It was the first and only game I ever programmed, and it would probably also include the ranks of the first game to have a backdoor," Milner said of "Starship 1".

"I do not tell anyone about this, nor to the Atari, at least for 30 years. I have several passwords that, when you hit a certain control circuit, it will say 'Hi, Ron!' and give you ten free playing opportunities, " he added.

Ed Fries was trying to prove it himself. Apparently, by pressing the 'phaser' and 'start' buttons simultaneously while inserting the coins into the machine, a message will say "Hi, Ron!" And the player will be rewarded with 10 additional lives. It can be said that this is also the first cheat game trick .

With the unfolding of it, it is quite possible that someday there will be other evidence that reverts history. But for now, Ed Fries believes that "Starship 1" is the first game to have Easter Egg in it.
